Dancing in the Rain

And then there was rain
Pouring from the skies
Casting shadows on my wall
As the Gods mourned my plight

Mysterious pieces of art
Formed on my window sill
Reminding me how I had missed
My only compatriot of recent times

She looked at me void disdain
Playing her melancholic rhythm
As a lay there on my bed
Broken and alone

Ain't our world but a lonely place
Filled with gloom and regret
Everyone their own...

Again tonight, Sleep eludes me
As I drift into a memory
So painful, it kills me inside
To remember his face, his voice, his eyes…
Boring into me, piercing my soul

For love is but a mirage
And the pain is real
Little did I know
Young and Naïve

It had rained that night…
As I tiptoed into the balcony
Phone in hand and overjoyed

He is back I hear…
And the war is finally over

To hear his voice
After what felt like a million days
To tell him how much I loved him
And hear him smile
I could wait no more

But on that fateful night
I heard not his smile
But his pain seeping through
As he let me go…

All around me, in bits and pieces
My world fell, As I looked on...
Blinded by tears, Numb from pain
Nothing seemed to matter any more
As I stood on that railing

I could fly said the voices in my head
wind gushing through my being
I felt free… for the first time
in a long time…
And I smiled
As I hit the ground

In another world
I know I will walk again
Feel the earth under my feet and see
Leaves and flowers dancing in the rain

Oh… how I wish
I had but known
That love was a mirage
And that pain was real…

Children of the Night - Wonder

Cant help but wonder how things would have been...
A minute, love lost
Another, a new beginning

Was it the rising sun or
Her heart shining through
Ram thought to himself...

For he had never seen
A lady like her ever before...

Like the raging sea, her hair in waves
Around her face, But her eyes...

There was something in them that he couldn't understand...
There was love but was there also anger
There was compassion but was there also fear
There was hope but was there also pain

He was in awe... and he knew it
She was all that he would need
She was all...

Standing there breathing in the morning air
She thought this moment is but perfect...

She could feel him for the first time
And it felt right...
He was different she knew it then...

When he looked at her
she knew he saw through her

Not just the lips
But the smile
And the pain
And the ruthlessness of it all...

It hurt to be so far she thought
And then she smiled...
She didn't even know his name
But she felt she had known him forever...

And all she wanted to do
Was to be standing there
With the sun on her face
And the cool morning breeze
Whispering in her ears
All the while as he looked on...
